DEFINITION

PREOPERATIVE

OPERATIVE

How can a male to female transsexual surgery be performed
Penile skin is used to line anterior and lateral walls of new vagina while perennial skin is used as part of posterior vaginal wall. Post Operative

1. What can I expect after surgery and how long is the recovery period?
   Usual pain and discomfort can be retrieved with pain medication .Drains and urinary catheter are removed in few days. Sutures are removed in 7 to 10 days.
   You will be instructed to retrain from strenuous activities. Instruction is given on dilatation of the new vagina. Normal activities can be resumed in 2-3 wks.

2. What is the usual outcome of the procedure
   
   For male transsexuals, the procedure can provide the sense of completeness. Having achieved the anatomical appearance of the female. Most of them do gain sexual satisfaction and try prostate stimulations. The surgical result is usually quite acceptable providing that they have realistic expectations.
